Review of IPCC AR6 Synthesis Report

The Synthesis report released on 20 March provides a context for the three previously released parts of the AR6. This is a powerful indictment of the fossil fuel industry and our overall lack of progress in addressing this problem. The survival of civilization depends on our immediate collective action. After a single news cycle the mainstream media has simply moved on to other issues. I am not hopeful that this iteration of the IPCC Assessment Reports will have any significant impact.

This report comes days after the Biden administration approved the Willow project and betrayed the young voters that put it into office. This massive extraction of oil will be one of the largest oil and gas drilling and pipeline projects in the U.S. It has the potential to contribute the emissions equivalent of 2 million automobiles.
